Dance, Move, Breathe, Laugh, Learn – no dance experience necessary!
*Because of my midwifery apprenticeship, I’ve suspended some of my BirthGarden services for now. I’m still offering placenta encapsulation. Other BirthGarden services
will be available once again at a future date!*
Women need a safe and supportive place to meet and get to know other expecting moms. Give yourself the gift of “mommy time” that’s just for you – no phones, mail, business or stress. Dance is the universal language of connection, celebration and empowerment…let’s enjoy it together! If you are pregnant, or have recently given birth, join us for fun with benefits!
Enjoy music from various cultures including African and Latin, and practice Dancing for Birth™ moves like “Mighty Mama”, “Babymaker, Birthgiver” and “Down Baby Down”. You will increase awareness of the baby/body connection, and the mind and body will feel more at ease as pregnancy and then labor progresses. Dancing aids in the flexibility of the pelvis and encourages your baby to move into optimum alignment for labor and birth. Practiced moves like “Birth Spiral, Infinite Patience, Abundant Belly, Rock the Baby, and Knocking on the Door” will become part of your instinctual movement to help soothe tension, encourage your labor, and increase comfort and confidence as you move through the unknown gifts and challenges of labor and birth.
After your baby is born, bring your baby and come back to dance with us. We will welcome and honor your transition to motherhood!
Classes are on a “pay what you wish” basis.
Please bring a yoga mat or blanket for floor work. Wear comfy clothes for ease of movement. Bring a scarf or coin belly dance wrap for your hips, or borrow one from me if you’d like.

“If a woman had no preconceived notion of how to give birth and was without culture or media to tell her how she should do it, she would birth by changing her position in response to her body’s cues, becoming a mother as effortlessly and as knowingly as she grew from an infant to a child, and developed from a child into a woman.” – Stephanie Larson, founder, Dancing for Birth™
